We would like to alert you to a shift with regard to the dissemination of our EENet newsletter. Beginning in August, we will move from a bi-weekly to a monthly newsletter release. This shift will ensure we can sustain our commitment to sharing best evidence and practices on mental health, substance use and addictions with all our valued partners and communities.

Webinar: Getting good sleep: Sleep and mental health in later life

Sleep is important for health, and it often changes as we age. These changes can affect quality of life and contribute to mental health problems.

This webinar will look at the science and treatment of sleep problems, including:

  • sleep changes that occur with age
  • current evidence on the link between sleep and mental health in later life
  • medication and non-medication approaches to treatment.

Foundational Health Educator Workshop

The TEACH Project is pleased to offer the Foundational Health Educator Workshop
— a requirement for the Certified Tobacco Educator (CTE) credential.

Dates and Time: September 11 and 12, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT
Location: CAMH Community Centre, 1001 Queen St W, Toronto, Ontario, M6J 1H4

Research snapshot: Study findings highlight problems with British Columbia’s 2.5-gram decriminalization threshold for illegal drugs
British Columbia is the first province to put a 2.5-gram decriminalization drug policy in place and researchers surveyed people who use illicit drugs in the province to find out what they thought about the policy and the 2.5-gram threshold limit before the policy came into effect. Read here.
