Evaluating system-level changes associated with Housing First. September 26, 10 - 11:30 AM, Eastern Time.

Join this webinar to learn about different approaches to collecting data at the systems level in Housing First programs. You will hear from experts and practitioners in Canada and Europe, who will share their research, policies and practices on the following topics:

  • Monitoring homelessness in Denmark in the context of the implementation of Housing First in national policy - Lars Benjaminsen
  • Homelessness prevention and housing among first-time and recurrent shelter users in Canada - Ian Cooper

Getting good sleep: sleep and mental health in later life. September 27, 12 - 1 PM, Eastern Time.

Join Dr. Christopher Kitamura and Dr. Wai Haung (Ho) Yu on September 27 as they explore the science behind and treatment of sleep problems, including:

  • sleep changes that occur with age
  • current evidence on the link between sleep and mental health in later life
  • medication and non-medication approaches to treatment.

What is Housing First?
The term Housing First describes an evidence-based approach to ending chronic homelessness. However, there is some confusion about what constitutes Housing First. This resource describes the Canadian Housing First Network’s definition of Housing First by defining “what it is not” and “what it is.” 
Experience Exchange: Using OCAN in day-to-day work with clients at CMHA Niagara
At a recent virtual train-the-trainer session hosted by EENet and Ontario Health, Terri Jackson, Clinical Manager at CMHA Niagara, discussed her organization’s approach to using the OCAN in day-to-day work. This edition of Experience Exchange features highlights from her presentation in her own words, edited for clarity and length.
